Ride Leader Guidelines

The Ride Leader owns the ride he/she leads. Ownership includes:

• Reviewing the route, map and/or cue sheet prior to the ride to determine the suitability of the road conditions and accuracy or the map and/or cue sheet, making any necessary alterations.
• Distributing maps and/or cue sheets and general directions to the riders immediately before the ride.
• Having riders record their participation on the sign-in sheet.
• Following the policy of no rider left behind.
• Completing the ride report which is then faxed, mailed, or emailed to the Ride Chair. This information will be used to evaluate such things as the route, road conditions, sag stops, and the ride’s suitability for continued use, as well as provide information for the newsletter.
• Completing an incident report for any rider injuries or mishaps, immediately notifying the Ride Chair and faxing, mailing, or emailing the report to him or her.
• Obtaining a substitute if you are not able to lead the ride.
